The batch creation template defines the batch rules to be used and the order in which they should be processed during the automatic batch creation.
You can add rules from the Work with batch rules program to a selected template. Normally, only batch rules with the same instruction type (Pick, Put away from bulk, Replenishment and Stock take) are grouped together. However, several batch rules with the same instruction type, but with different selection criteria specified, may be added to the same template. If so, then the batch rule sequences control in what order they should be processed during the automatic R/F batch creation.
Prerequisites
You must set up a batch rule in Work with batch rules and a batch creation template in Work with batch creation templates.
- Select the Work with R/F batch creation templates menu item.
- You access the main panel. Select the template to which you want to connect batch rules and click Batch rules.
- You access Work with R/F batch creation templates, Batch rules. Note: This panel can also be accessed by using the Batch rules function key on the Work with R/F batch creation templates detail panel. Click Add to connect batch rules to the template.
- On the Batch rules detail panel, complete the following fields:
- Batch rule
- Enter the identity of the batch rule.
- Sequence
- Enter a number indicating the order in which the batch rule should be processed within the template. Valid values range from 1 through 99999, where 1 indicates the first rule to be processed. Note: You can add several rules to the template. Just make sure that you sequence them in the order that they are going to be processed.
Click OK to confirm/update the entered information. Continue adding rules until you are finished. Click Back.
- You return to the main Batch rules panel displaying the batch rules that are connected to this batch creation template, and the order in which they are to be processed. Note: Click Re-sequence to re-number the batch rules within the template in increments of 10.
When the automatic R/F batch creation program is run, the batch rules will be processed in the order defined for the template on this panel. Exit the routine.
