The following describes how you split an asset with the percentage as the basis.
Here, you want to split the original asset into two parts where the remaining amount, i.e., 25%, is to be kept on the original asset (2), and the split values, i.e. 75% are to be moved to a new asset (1):
|
Original asset (before the split) |
|
|---|---|
| Acquisition value | 10,000 |
| Depreciation balance | 4,000 |
| Residual value | 6,000 |
| Quantity | 10 |
|
New asset 1 |
Original asset (after the split) 2 |
||
|---|---|---|---|
| Acquisition value | 7,500 | Acquisition value | 2,500 |
| Depreciation balance | 3,000 | Depreciation balance | 1,000 |
| Residual value | 4,500 | Residual value | 1,500 |
| Quantity | 10 | Quantity | 10 |
- Select the Work with split menu item.
- You access Asset split selection. Follow the instructions for completing the fields in step 2 in Split according to acquisition value with the following exception:
Instead of entering a value in Acquisition value, enter information in the following field:
- Percentage
- Since this task describes how to split with the percentage as the basis, this field must be entered. Enter the new asset’s share of the percentage, here 75%.
Click OK. Ensure that the information is correct and click Perform split to perform the split and select the printer information.
Note: Since quantity is not used as the basis for this example, the original asset’s quantity will not be split. If you want to split the quantity between the assets, you have to do it manually in the Working with assets routine.
Click OK to receive a receipt confirming the changes made in the Asset file. Exit the routine.
