R/F batches can either be manually created or created automatically from a template. The following describes the process of creating R/F batches automatically. For information about manual creation of R/F batches, see About working with R/F instructions.
The automatic batch creation functionality optimises the performance in your warehouse since it creates the R/F batches automatically according to pre-defined rules and selection criteria. These rules and process definitions are set up in the Batch rule table and the Batch creation template table.
You can access and run the automatic batch creation program from the Automatic creation of R/F batches menu item or from Work with R/F instructions. To improve the efficiency even further, batches can also be automatically created directly from the following programs if an R/F batch creation template is defined:
- Pick list printout
The automatic R/F batch creation will start when the pick lists are printed. - Stock take list selection
The automatic R/F batch creation will start when the stock take list is printed. - Replenishment suggestion creation
The automatic R/F batch creation will start when the replenishment suggestion is created. - Put away from bulk suggestion creation
The automatic R/F batch creation will start when the put away from bulk suggestion is created.
During the R/F batch creation, valid suggestions are selected from different suggestion files. A new batch is created when all the batch rule criteria are fulfilled.
