Service orders create information for planning purposes in the service order creation/maintenance routine, if this has been defined for the service order type. In the planning routine, you are then able to assign engineers to jobs and view the service orders, for instance, by priority, warehouse, order type, status, engineer and so on.
By selecting a service order, you can let the system propose the most suitable engineers for the job. This will be done on the basis of work time availability and skill, as defined in the skill level matrix. When the proposal is accepted or if any changes to the work schedule have been made, the engineer calendar is updated accordingly.
It is possible also to assign other time to an engineer’s calendar (such as training, or holidays, for example). Changes to the engineer calendar can be made either in the Service planning program or via the Work with engineer calendar menu item.
