There are four ways of defining selections for a column in the report specification:
- In the column in Work with report columns (which is explained here).
- In the line in Work with report lines (see About working with report lines).
- In the version in Work with report versions (see Define a simple version).
- When printing the report (see Print a report on paper).
For your information, the columns look like this on a printout:

In this report all four columns show the “net sales value” for the same period. In each of the columns a selection is done on “Country“. In the following instructions, the selection is on Denmark.
Prerequisites
The version report you select must have a description defined with the key “Country”.
SALES VALUE (Denmark)
- Select the Work with reports menu item.
- On the main panel, select the applicable version report and click Columns.
- On the Work with report columns panel, click Add.
- On the detail panel, complete the fields as follows:
- Column number
- Enter 10.
- Column heading 1
- Enter “SALES VALUE”.
- Column heading 2
- Enter “Denmark”.
- Column type
- Enter 1, which means “Actual value”.
- Balance type
- Enter SNET, which means “Net sales value”.
- Edit code
- Enter 22.
- Relative year
- Set both fields to YES.
- Relative period
- Set both fields to YES.
- You access Work with report columns, Select key values showing all selected keys from the report description that you can use to make selections. Since this column should display “net value” for Denmark, you should make selections on “country”. Tip: For more information about statistics keys, see About working with versions.
- From
- Enter DK for Denmark.
- To
- Enter DK for Denmark.
Click Selection.
If the “Country” key is not visible on the panel, then click Next to display the additional page(s) on this panel, or click the prompt icon in the Key field to add the key. For the “Country” key, complete the fields as follows:
