When the pick list is printed, batches are automatically reserved for the manufacturing order. However, you can manually reserve specific batches for a manufacturing order before the pick list is printed. This way, you can make sure that the right batch is selected.
Using the batch allocation functionality you can also remove batch reservations so that the batch items can be used for sales orders.
Batch reservation at material issue
If no manual batch allocations have been made, batch reservations can also be created using the Refresh suggestion function key in the Manufacturing order material issue routine. This can be done for components that are partly issued or for which the issue is reported at a later stage.
Using this function, the system will locate and suggest available batches for all batch controlled components in the BOM. The search result may differ from earlier suggestions since batches that were previously not available might be suggested when you refresh the list.
Note: If manual bookings have been made, the booked batches will be displayed.
