Create a sales promotion

By defining a sales promotion for an item group only, you specify that the adjustment is made for all item groups in the company (i.e. the company level). By defining a sales promotion for both item group and warehouse, the adjustment is valid on the warehouse level.

  1. Select the Work with sales promotions menu item.
  2. On the main panel, click Add.
  3. You access the detail panel. The following fields are mandatory:

    Enter a name for the new sales promotion.
    Description
    Enter a description of the new sales promotion.
    Valid from
    Enter a date indicating from when the sales promotion is valid.
    Valid to
    Enter a date indicating until when the sales promotion is valid.

    If the sales promotion is to be used for forecast adjustments, you must connect the promotion to an item related key:

    Key 1
    Enter a valid and active item related key code from Work with DIS control keys. Note: The forecast is tracked in the system on item/warehouse level. If you only apply an item related key to the sales promotion, the system will only calculate the forecast for the active warehouses for the item. If you additionally select the order related Warehouse key, then the system will calculate the forecast for the selected individual warehouses.

    Click OK.

  5. You return to the main panel. Select the new sales promotion and click Key values.
  6. You access Key values – Selection. Select the item related key that you defined and click Key values.
  7. On the Key values – Item related panel, click Add to connect the sales promotion to the applicable items. When you have added all relevant items, exit the routine.
