Use pseudo accounts that are automatically defaulted

The following describes how to use the pseudo accounts that you have already defined. This will save you time spent on manually entering the account for the contra postings.

Select the Enter financial transactions menu item.
You access the initial Financial system transaction entry panel where you select the A/P invoices routine.
On A/P invoice/credit note entry, complete the following fields:

Document type: Enter the document type to which you have previously connected a pseudo catalogue. See Create a pseudo catalogue and connect it to a document type.
Supplier number: Enter the supplier number to which you have previously connected a pseudo account. See Set up default pseudo accounts through the Business partner file.
Transaction amount: Enter the transaction amount for this document.

Click OK.

You access VAT amounts/default accounts entry where you can see the pseudo account defaulted from the Business partner file, and the pseudo accounts defaulted from the pseudo catalogue. Note: If a blank entry was sequenced in Work with pseudo catalogues, then the panel displays a blank space where you can manually enter any pseudo account you choose.

Enter the amounts next to any pseudo account you want to use as a contra account. If, however, the applicable pseudo account has not been defaulted and you are unable to enter the total amount of the document, the system will then prompt you to post the remaining amount manually when you go to the G/L postings panel.

If the total base amount has been entered in the defaulted pseudo accounts, then no manual postings are needed on the G/L posting panel. Click OK.

You access G/L postings entry for A/P documents showing that all postings to the G/L have been done automatically and no manual postings are necessary here. After clicking OK on this panel you will return to the invoice entry panel where you can proceed to the next invoice.
