Restrictions may be in place on the sale of either certain items, or to certain customers. In addition, sales from a certain region, or to specific region might also be restricted. In some cases, a combination of all these reasons might apply. The purpose for these restrictions might be due to the sensitive nature of some goods (e.g., weapons, chemicals) trade embargoes or sanctions against a particular country or region, or the banning of a certain product being sold.
If a sale is entered, to which any restrictions apply, it will result in the order being put on hold. If a user has authority it may be released. For more information regarding restricted sales, see About sales restrictions.
To release a sales order that has been held due to a sales restriction do as follows:
- Select the Work with held sales orders menu item.
- You access Work with held sales orders.
- Handler
- Displays the signature of the person who entered the order.
- RC
- Displays the reason code defined on the order header when the order was held. The default code for restricted sales is 30. To learn more about the nature of the sale restriction, click on Reasons, where the details of this will be displayed.
- You access Work with held sales orders, Held details where the specific details regarding the reason for the order being held are listed. In particular, the handler of the person who is able to release restricted sales, based on the criteria when the restriction was configured, is listed.
Select the order you wish to release, and click Release order.
Click OK to confirm the release of this order. If your handler has authority to release restrictions of this kind, the order will be released.
Note: Sales restrictions include the option to have an order subject to the same check being carried out, once this order is released. If you find that this order is put on hold once again, consult the Re-check option on the Work with sales restrictions panel or see Work with restricted sales.
Exit the routine.
