In conjunction with viewing stock availability for an item in a warehouse, you also have the option to view the planning time for the item.
The Planning time enquiry can be accessed via two methods:
- While in the Time axis enquiry, or
- By selecting Planning time enquiry.
To exemplify this procedure, you will access it from the Time axis enquiry.
- Select the Time axis enquiry program.
- You access Time axis enquiry, Inventory. Enter the Item code and Warehouse for which you want to view available stock. Click OK.
- The same panel is displayed, but with information in the “cells”. Click Pl time.
- You access Planning time enquiry. You use this enquiry to find out the planning time and replenishment time for the item in the warehouse, depending on, for example:
- supplier
- manner of transport
- supplier’s transport time
- Item
- Warehouse
- BtB transit
- BtB direct
- External override
- You would set this field to YES if you want to view the planning time for the main warehouse if From wh override is left blank.
- Internal override
- You would set this field to YES if you want to view the planning time from the “Supplied from warehouse”.
- Supplier
- If you leave this field blank, the main supplier is retrieved.
- From wh override
- You can enter the supplying warehouse from where you want the item to be delivered. If you leave this field blank the system retrieves the supplying warehouse or main warehouse if Internal override is set to YES.
- Manner of transport
- If you leave this field blank, either the manner of transport for the main supplier will be used for external replenishments or the Default MOT in the Internal transport time table will be used for internal replenishments. If you complete the field, you will receive another transport time for the applicable manner of transport.
- You access Planning time enquiry, outlining the planning time values. You can see when this item can be received in this warehouse.
If an earliest shipment date exists for the item in the Item file/Supplier information file and if Earliest ship date less today’s date is greater than normal lead time, then the earliest date the item can be shipped from the supplier is indicated on this panel. The Lead time will be then calculated based on this date. From this information, the earliest arrival date of the item can be known. It is calculated as follows:
Today’s date + Transport time + the greater of (Earliest ship date – today’s date) or Lead time Note: For Purchase suggestions and Simulations, Purchase orders, Sales order entry and Sales order replan, the earliest shipment date will override the normal lead time for the item/supplier combination when the Earliest ship date is farther in the future than the normal lead time would indicate.
Tip: If the item is not currently in stock, you can use this enquiry to find out when it can be received.
