Set up alternative attribute defaults for a configurable item

For a component item, the attribute defaults are used to uniquely identify and select the item when generating a Bill of Material (BOM). For a configurable item, the attribute values (if specified) are used as default values at product configuration entry.

  1. Select the Work with configurator items menu item.
  2. On the initial panel, select the configurator item for which you want to set up alternative attribute defaults and click Attribute values.
  3. You access Configurator item maintenance, Attribute values. Select the applicable attribute and click Default set-up.
  4. You access Configurator item maintenance, Attribute defaults. Select the applicable attribute default and click Alternative.
  5. You access Configurator item maintenance, Attribute defaults in add mode. Complete the following fields:
  6. Sub sequence number
    Enter the sequence number that identifies the attribute default values and performs the default retrieval from more than one user defined table.

    You can complete any one of the following fields:

    User defined table
    Enter the code that identifies the user-defined table.
    Formula
    Enter the code that identifies the formula.
    Characteristic
    Enter the characteristic code that identifies the configurator item.

    Refer to the Panel help for information about the remaining fields.

    Click OK to add the alternative attribute defaults for the selected configurator item. If you now navigate to the Configurator item maintenance, Attribute defaults panel and select Alternative, the Configurator item maintenance, Alternative attribute defaults panel will be displayed.
