Quickly find required information

The two options that are available to quickly find specific information in the columns are described below.

Enter filter

  1. Quick find
Right-click in the column header for the column you want to search. Enter the search string in the Quick find text box and click OK. PlannerView will locate the first cell in the selected column that contains the searched string anywhere in the cell text, and scroll the panel (if necessary) to make the located cell visible.
  2. Filter string (Quick filter)
Right-click on the column header for the column you want to filter on. Enter the filter string (optionally beginning with a comparison) in the Quick filter text box and click OK. All rows in the panel that fulfil the filter criteria will remain visible. All other rows will be hidden.

If a quick filter is defined for a column, the column header will get a dark blue background colour, and when placing the mouse pointer over a filtered column, the filter criteria will be shown as a tool tip.

The quick filter is removed either with a separate tool button, also located in the right-click dropdown menu, or when you are refreshing data.

If the filter string is numeric and the cell value also is numeric, a numeric comparison will be performed. Otherwise a string comparison is performed.

It is possible to add quick filters on more than one column. In this case, the second filtering will be performed on the rows that display the result of the first filtering.

  3. Clear quick filter

To restore the column after filtering, right-click on the column header for the column you have entered a filter string for and click Clear quick filter.
