Options
Start | Select this option to start the communication process. This will activate a batch job for the process acting as a communication server. |
Stop | Select this option to stop the communication process. This will cause an end job request to be sent to the communication server job. |
Incoming messages | Select this option to view the messages received from a reporting terminal. |
Outgoing messages | Select this option to view the messages sent to a reporting terminal. |
Message log | Select this option to work with the log of incoming messages of the selected process. |

Shift info | Toggle between displaying all processes or only processes that are currently active. |
Selection fields
- Process
- Displays the name of the communication process.
- Activation
- Displays the server job activation. This field controls if the communication process should automatically be started when entering the IBS Time company, i.e., if anyone enters the company.
- Queue IN
- Displays the name of the OS/400 data queue used for the physical communication between IBS Time and a terminal. This data queue is used for receiving data from the terminal.
- Queue OUT
- Displays the name of the OS/400 data queue used for the physical communication between IBS Time and a terminal. This data queue is used for sending data (in the form of messages) to the terminal.
- Library
- Displays the name of the OS/400 library containing the data queues.
- Comm. pgm
- Displays the name of the communication program, i.e., the program used to process the received terminal messages.
- Status
- Displays the communication status. Current status of the process:
- Active
- Inactive
