Product costing selection (BAS052A)

The purpose of this selection program is to calculate product costing for items. Selections can be made for all items or for a number of items.

Calculation date
The calculation date for validation if current or new prices and overhead should be used when retrieving costing values for different tables. The calculation must be set to current date if the purpose of the calculation is to update standard cost on the item.
Selection
The code indicates how the selection of items should be performed.

Valid codes are:

Code Description
1 All items
2 Item required for product costing
3 Item selection
Item cost type
The code indicates from where the component prices should be retrieved during the product costing calculation. The default value is retrieved 1) from batch job parameters or 2) from the MFG control file. If this value is not the same as that defined for the same field in the MFG control file you will not be allowed to update the standard cost price. Instead, you will only be able to run a product costing and either save it as a simulation or not save the results at all.
Work centre price
The code indicates from where the work centre’s prices should be retrieved during the product costing calculation. The default value is retrieved 1) from batch job parameters or 2) from the MFG control file. If this value is not the same as that defined in the same field in the MFG control file you will not be allowed to update the standard cost price. Instead, you will only be able to run a product costing and either save it as a simulation or not save the results at all.

Save costing
Indicates if the cost calculation should be saved. If this field is set to YES, the costing will be saved in the Product costing enquiry file and the standard cost price on item or item/warehouse level will be updated. The update of the standard cost price is only performed if Item cost type and Work centre price is set according to MFG control file.
Upd base sales price
Indicates if the base sales price should be updated with the new calculated value. This field can only be set to YES if Item cost type and Work centre price are set according to MFG control file. This field is only displayed if the user has authority to update base sales price from costing. Note: The sales price list will only be updated. This means the update will only affect existing base price – no price list is created.
Calc with std qty PC
The default value in this field is retrieved from the MFG control file. Indicates if the standard cost should be calculated using the Standard quantity PC instead of the Stock unit from the Item file. If this field is set to YES, the product costing element will be presented according to the standard quantity for PC, but the update to the Item file will be made by stock unit.
Rounding off
The code indicates how the base sales price should be rounded off. Mandatory entry if Upd base sales price is set to YES and if the user has authority to update base sales price.
Allowed divergence %
The divergent value +/- % indicates the high and low limits that are allowed to perform update of new product costing price.
Print error rep only
Indicates if only calculated items, which were not valid to update, should be printed.
Cost model
The cost model that should be used during the calculation. If this field is left blank the active cost model will be used during the calculation.
Simulation name
The name of the product costing simulation. Mandatory entry if Item cost type or Work centre price is set to different values than those in the MFG control file.
