You can set up scheduled batch jobs in IBS Enterprise for automatic updates of opening balances and cash flow forecast values, and for the calculation of expected payment deviation days on a regular basis. These updates are necessary in order to work with the Cash Flow Manager (CFM) role in the IBS PlannerView user interface. By setting up scheduled jobs for the updates, you can be certain that you have all information for the cash flow forecast regularly and properly updated without any manual interference.
Note: See About Cash Flow Manager for a background description of the application.
Prerequisites
The application Cash Flow Manager (CFM) must be installed and activated in Work with companies in IBS Enterprise.
Note: The setup of scheduled batch jobs should be performed by an IBS consultant or a system administrator.
Scheduled batch jobs should be set up for the following procedures:
- Update of Opening balances for all selected cash and bank accounts.
- Update of Expected payments for the preloaded cash flow forecast types SALES, ARDIS, A/R, PURCHASE and A/P.
- Calculation of Expected payment deviation days for all or a selected range of business partners.
The update of opening balances and expected payments should be run with the same frequency and at the same time, e.g., daily or weekly. It is not necessary to perform the calculation of expected payment deviation days that often; only quarterly or every six months, for example.
Note: The update of expected payments uses the expected payment deviation days values to calculate the expected payment date. Therefore, this job should be run before the update of expected payments, if they are scheduled to be run the same day.
The parameters controlling the execution of the scheduled batch jobs are defined in the IBS Enterprise Job Control module. Job streams are not preinstalled and must be entered individually for each installation.
For each of these scheduled batch jobs you need to define:
- A batch job stream in the Batch programs table.
- A job stream action sequence, in the Job control table for the defined batch job stream.
- A job time schedule entry defined for the batch job stream in the Job control table.
Note: For further details, see Job control in the Technical references accessible on the IBS Intranet.
